Centro District
It is home to the oldest area of the city. The most monumental area (the Madrid of the Austrias around Gran Vía) was created when the royal court officially and permanently moved to Madrid.
Places of Interest:
- Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral
- Cibeles Fountain
- Alcalá Gate
- Post Office Palace (currently the Madrid City Hall)
Nightlife: The district offers numerous nightlife options in:
- Calle de las Huertas
- Near Puerta del Sol
- Lavapiés area ⚠️ We recommend caution here due to frequent pickpocketing
Retiro District
Here you can enjoy probably the most famous park in Madrid, the Buen Retiro Gardens. It's a perfect place to disconnect for a moment and take a relaxing walk in a central location.
The Art Triangle:
- Prado Museum - The largest art museum in Spain and one of the most visited worldwide
- Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum - A public institution originating from the private Thyssen-Bornemisza family collection, hosting works of various styles
- Reina Sofía Museum - 20th century and contemporary art
Salamanca District
An area of Madrid developed between the 19th and 20th centuries. It currently houses an important commercial area of the city and is characterized by the presence of numerous luxury stores.
